The smoking issue is actually on the way to being solved. You're testing my memory here, but a year or two ago we put a multi-year plan in place to create a smoke-free campus. I believe either Fall 2010 or Fall 2011 will be our first smoke free academic year. While I very much believe in personal freedom, secondhand smoke is extraordinarily harmful to the health of others, and I was proud to cast a yes vote for the smoke free campus plan.

Good thoughts on AC and student resource center - thanks for your feedback!

One of my pet peeves is that the smoking areas are on both sides of the walk ways leaving some buildings. So, you have to walk through clouds of smoke to get to other buildings. The percentage of students at Sierra College that smoke is very high and for those with asthma and other respiratory problems, it makes it very difficult to breathe.

The A/C is set really low in some of the buildings - a lot of students wear sweatshirts in class because it is so cold. This cannot be very cost effective and it certainly isn't good for students to be going from very cold buildings to warm weather outside while changing classes all day long.

The student resource center is a great asset for students and they have some excellent workshops.

Liked: The Professors & Small Classes:
- Having professors who have practical experience in the field they are teaching
- Small classes & accessibility of professors (something that I missed once I transferred to a 4-year university)

Needs Improvement: Internship opportunities & encouragement.
- I understand a large portion of Sierra's students are working full-time while taking classes so this is difficult, however in most classes I never felt encouraged to take part in relevant internship and/or volunteer opportunities.

Keep up the great work Aaron. I really appreciate you posting the documents for these meetings and keeping us social media folks updated
