Handwritten Notes

Today, I got a handwritten note from a reader of this blog.

I hear you. “What? A physical letter? Like in the mail?”

Yes, in the mail. All the way from “across the pond” in London, England.

This new friend and I met in the comments on Fred Wilson’s AVC blog a few months ago. He wrote some very kind words in his note. I can’t wait until our paths cross and we can meet in real life.

Handwritten notes are a lost art form, for the most part. This one has inspired me to start doing that again.

Thanks, Rohan.

When did you get your last handwritten note?

JLM is a big advocate of hand-written notes. It’s been a while since I’ve received one, and since I’ve sent one. I’ll have to make a point of sending one soon.

I’m thinking about how to work this into my normal systems so it becomes a habit…

Received one yesterday. Wrote one yesterday. My mom & I live 180 miles apart, and we write letters to each other every few days. :)

That’s an awesome thing to do!

My. My. I really don’t know what to say except that I can’t wait to meet you too!

    Thanks Aaron.. :)

And since my thanksgiving/holiday season note writing initiative, I’ve not gotten back to some good old fashioned letter writing. I wanted to make sure I do atleast one a month. Haven’t yet.

    Thanks for the reminder.

    A learning a day.. ;)

There really ARE people still sending handwritten notes…their scarcity makes them even more precious and appreciated. I blog often about ways to write notes that are comforting, encouraging, and meaningful…a handwritten note is the perfect connection tool!

      Very cool, Elizabeth!
